MTV VMA 2013: One Direction get booed collecting award as Lady Gaga threatens to leave

Gaga told 1D backstage: "Don't you dare let those people boo you, I don't want to stay anymore"

They are used to deafening screams and hysterical cries from teenage fans around the world.
But One Direction were booed when they collected an award for Best Song of the Summer at the MTV VMAs.
It was a surprise reaction from punters inside the Barclays Center as the five lads thanked fans.
Speaking backstage after the boos, Zayn ignored the criticism and remained positive.
"We want to say a massive thank you to the fans who voted for us," he said.
Niall added: "It means so much to us. We cannot believe we've won it."
But they were backed by the biggest queen in pop music when Lady Gaga stepped in.

She was hanging out on the side of stage waiting for 1D and defended them against the boos.
Gaga told One Direction she was booed and wanted to say something to the audience.
The Applause singer told the boyband: "Don't you dare let those people boo you.
"If I did hear what I heard out there, I just want to tell you that you deserve every bit of success that you have.
"I want to leave right now. I don't want to stay anymore because I don't want to be in a room where people are booing."
Louis was heard responding to her support saying: "F*** it, f*** it."
