Manchester United manager David Moyes will give late fitness tests to Danny Welbeck and Phil Jones before finalising his line-up for tonight's Champions League tie against Bayer Leverkusen.
England striker Welbeck is suffering from a knee injury while Jones is still struggling with the ankle injury he picked up in the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool at the start of the month.
However, the Scot can again call on the services of midfielder Shinji Kagawa who has recovered from the bout of flu which saw him sit out the 2-0 home win over Crystal Palace at the weekend.
Leverkusen counterpart Sami Hyypia, whose side lie third in the Bundesliga after chalking up four wins from their opening five games, will check on the fitness of midfielder Lars Bender (hip) before naming his starting line-up.
But the former Liverpool defender will be unable to include Jens Hegeler and Gonzalo Castro after injury ruled the duo out of the Old Trafford showpiece.
Hyypia, who picked up the only red card of his career at the same ground 10 years ago, admits he is aware of United's threat but is hopeful his gameplan will see them take a positive result back to Germany.
"We know exactly what we will be up against at Old Trafford," said the Finn.
"However, we have to stop them getting into their rhythm and make sure they don't score in open play. Then we need to be very aware at set pieces."
